Exploring Pathways: Emotional Mapping with Sustainable Materials
Creative Mapping Workshop by THX Collective and Colab
Our circle at THX Collective, in collaboration with Colab, came together for a workshop that celebrated creativity, emotional expression, and sustainable design. Immersed in Colab’s sustainable materials library, we explored textures, stories, and potentials of innovative materials, letting touch, intuition, and curiosity guide our creative process.
Through emotional mapping, our collective paired materials with feelings like joy, sadness, and surprise, transforming the space into a living canvas of perception and imagination. Some of us shared stories behind certain materials, others sketched new concepts, while many contributed literary quotes or personal reflections, weaving multiple layers of meaning into a vibrant, shared map.
The atelier underscored how sustainability can be a source of inspiration: mindful material choices became catalysts for emotion, innovation, and connection. Together, we discovered that design is not just about function or form, it is a medium through which we experience, reflect, and connect with one another and the world around us.
