Exploring Pathways: Emotional Mapping with Sustainable Materials
Creative Mapping Workshop by THX Collective and Colab
In collaboration with Colab, THX Collective hosted an inspiring workshop that celebrated creativity, emotional expression, and sustainable design. Set within Colab’s sustainable materials library, participants engaged with an array of innovative materials ~ exploring their textures, stories, and potential through a deeply creative and emotional lens.
Through a process of emotional mapping, attendees paired materials with feelings such as joy, sadness, and surprise, transforming the experience into a vibrant, multifaceted exploration of human perception and design thinking. Some participants shared stories behind the materials, others sketched new concepts, while many added literary quotes or personal reflections, enriching the collective map with layers of meaning and connection.
The event highlighted the power of sustainability as a source of inspiration: reminding us that mindful material choices can evoke emotion, spark innovation, and strengthen community ties.
