Form, Faith, and Memory: A Curated Architectural Journey

A Collective Encounter with Architecture Shaping Identity, Belief, and Coexistence

Our circle at THX Collective embarked on a journey through Abu Dhabi’s transformative architecture, visiting the Zayed National Museum by Foster + Partners and the Abrahamic Family House by Adjaye Associates: two landmark works that explore identity, faith, and coexistence.

The journey began at the Zayed National Museum, where sculptural steel forms rise like falcon wings, echoing the UAE’s national symbol. Every gesture of the building -its interplay with light, movement, and climate- creates a profound dialogue between architecture, nature, and collective memory. Beyond its striking form, the museum offered a deeply cultural and educational experience, revealing layers of heritage, history, and national identity.

Next, we visited the Abrahamic Family House, where three equal cubic volumes -representing a mosque, church, and synagogue- stand side by side in quiet harmony. Their shared scale and form express equality and fraternity, while the interiors unfold unique spiritual atmospheres through considered light, proportion, and materiality. It was a rare opportunity to witness how architecture can honor difference while fostering unity.

As a collective, we treasure these explorations, learning and drawing inspiration together. Each visit reminds us that architecture is not just about form, but about the stories, beliefs, and connections it embodies.
