Villa 62 is a full-scale villa renovation project located in The Springs, one of Dubai’s well-known residential communities. Originally built 14 years ago, this 450-square-meter villa has been completely reimagined into a modern and functional family home through a careful blend of contemporary design elements and strategic architectural interventions.

Outdoor Living: Low-Maintenance Landscape Design for Dubai Climate

The landscape design was developed to enhance usability while responding to Dubai’s arid climate conditions. A sleek new swimming pool was introduced along the garden’s long façade, paired with a warm timber deck that creates a relaxing sunbathing and leisure zone.

To reduce maintenance and improve functionality, the remaining garden area was designed with gravel and concrete hardscape, making it both child-friendly and suitable for outdoor activities such as cycling. To soften the space visually, green planting pockets were integrated into the gravel areas. A custom-designed barbecue area was also added to promote outdoor social interaction, aligning with the villa’s family-oriented lifestyle.

Ground Floor Renovation: Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living

The villa’s ground floor underwent a spatial reconfiguration to improve flow and establish a stronger connection to the garden. The kitchen and living room were both extended toward the outdoor space, allowing abundant natural light and creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.

The newly expanded open-plan kitchen features a central island counter and an informal dining nook framed by full-height windows overlooking the garden. Finishes such as light-toned wood and travertine surfaces were selected to create a warm, earthy interior palette that harmonizes with the external environment.

Interior Materials: Warm, Timeless, and Contemporary

Throughout the house, light-colored wood flooring laid in a Hungarian herringbone pattern contributes to the overall serene atmosphere. The partition wall between the kitchen and living room was transformed into a multifunctional TV wall with integrated niches, blending function and design. Earthy tones dominate the living room palette, creating a soft, neutral, and inviting environment. A bespoke wooden bookcase was added adjacent to the living room entrance, paired with darker timber accent chairs to introduce contrast and visual interest.

Master Suite Redesign: Integrated Comfort and Style

The master bedroom suite was fully reworked for comfort and modernity. Existing wardrobes were replaced with built-in cabinetry in clean, minimalist lines. The headboard wall was finished in light timber, extending the warm materiality of the flooring. Richer tones in the bedspread and rugs add layered contrast to the overall serene aesthetic.

The original en-suite bathroom, previously oversized, was redesigned to include a walk-in dressing area, featuring cabinetry in matching wood tones. The bathroom now showcases travertine flooring and wall cladding, a wall-mounted wooden vanity, and a vessel sink, combining natural materials with modern fixtures in metal for a refined, contemporary look.

Secondary Bedroom & Functional Additions

The secondary bedroom was also completely redesigned with a focus on light finishes, natural textures, and modern furnishings, maintaining visual consistency throughout the home.

Additional storage and utility were introduced by converting the under-stairs area into a custom built-in closet and a discreet laundry zone, maximizing every corner of the home’s layout.
